If you are interested in a particularly large or unique sign, we can custom cut one for you, but for the most part there is a selection of most colors and sizes available and in stock. You can't miss them on your way into the quarry. Most people have their name, housing development, or business sandblasted into the sawn portion of the sign, with the back maintaining the natural surface of the rock. We can arrange to have the sandblasting done for you, or you can have the blank delivered to your choice of shops. Typically a stencil is made of your design preference and applied to the cut surface using glue. The piece is then sent out to the sandblasting shop, carved, and then returned with the stencil intact. The letters or depictions can then be painted with a special type of paint. If you prefer a more stylistic or hand-worked look to your sign, we can arrange to have a stonecarver work letters or art into the face of the stone. In this case you are not limited to a sawn surface, but the price may reflect the increased amount of work involved. Some of the relief carvings made by a local stonecarver named Paul Keesler are simply amazing, and would hold a spot over a fireplace mantle let alone a driveway entrance.
