NIST Test Wall
In 1948, a test wall was constructed in near Washington D.C. to study weathering effects of various stones sampled from around the world.  Wilkeson sandstone was selected as was a variety of other locally quarried stones. It contains 2352 stone samples from 47 U.S. states and 16 foreign countries.  If the state capital complex in Olympia isn't enough proof to show Wilkeson sandstone's superior weathering characteristics, this scientific endeavor should put any doubts to rest.  Below are pictures of the wall and a link to the website.
